Hello again friends. I was recently involved in helping with my bestie’s baby shower. Her theme was sort of vintage mixed with baby owls. Cute right! Part of my job was to make a cute banner for the cupcake area. I had free reign on this project and decided to do a simple triangle banner. I of course searched Pinterest for some free printable letters and came across these Free Printable Banner Letters from Shanty to Chic.
They have all the letters ready to print out on your computer with a triangle around them to cut out and make the banner shape. EASY!!!
So here’s what else you will need to make these.
After I cut them out, I placed two letters in opposite directions on a piece of cardstock. The cardstock will be the background for the letters. This not only looks pretty but makes the banner letters more durable.
You can make the cardstock border as thick or as thin as you like. I made it so that I could fit 2 letters on each piece of cardstock.
After I had those cut out, I used that cardstock as a template for the rest of the cardstock. This way you don’t have to keep measuring and cutting and measuring more. You can just cut out all of your cardstock at once. Then cut. Then glue. (Or maybe this is the OCD in me. You can do whatever you want.) The picture on the left cuts the paper in “half”, so to speak, and the one on the right finishes off the triangle.
I used my handy dandy scrapbooking paper cutter for quick easy cuts. If you don’t have one of these you can obviously just hand cut them with scissors but the paper cutter makes for really nice lines if you have a shaky hand.
I then glued all of my letter to my cardstock backgrounds.
I let them dry a little before punching two holes on either side of the letters at the top to allow twine to fit through to hang the banner. You could also use little clothespins to hang the letters to twine but I wanted cute little holes.
And there you have it. A cute banner for a baby shower.
Here is some of the other décor from the shower.
Book holding area for the babies new books. (She requested books instead of cards…love that!)
Cutest owl cupcakes EVA!!! (I didn’t make them but I sure did eat them!)
Babies name on boxes wrapped in brown paper with wooden letters on the front and stacked.
Next time you have to hot a shower or a birthday party. This banner would make a great addition. Just change the lettering and the colors till your hearts content!!
Have a wonderful Week!!!
