In keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme this week, I have decided to find a pin on Pinterest and hack the heck out of it. I know, how original but sometimes I just want to create and not think about what I am creating. Pure DIY joy!
This is what I found. A really cute burlap banner made by Thoughts From Alice using jute upholstery webbing, felt hearts and twine. EASY!!!! Here is HER version that I found on Pinterest.
I bought all of my supplies at Joann Fabric Store for less than $2.50 and it took me about 15 minutes to make. I followed Alice’s directions step by step on her website (directions here). She had very clear instructions with a great photo tutorial. Here is how MY banner turned out. I had these old window panes that I bought last summer. I painted them and backed them with chicken wire. I like to keep them around for random decorating ideas and they just so happen to work perfectly for this cute banner.
I opted not to add the scrabble letter because I thought they looked great without them.
I bunched the ends of the twine into circles and attached them to the chicken wire with small decorative clothes pins.
I am thrilled with this Pinterest hack. Isn’t it totally adorbs!!! (said in my best valley girl voice while twirling my hair.) Such and easy accent for Valentine’s Day and would even look great year round.I
If you give this hack a try, let me know how you did and send me some pictures!
Have a great day!! XO- Amy
