Howdy ladies and gents! I hope you’re able to enjoy this beautiful weather right now. The weather in Pennsylvania has been amazing the past week. Great for outdoor painting and end of summer cleaning. Or maybe that’s just me who likes to do those things.
Anyway, this week I was asked by fellow blogger Megan of Rappsody in Rooms to do a tour through blogland. I met Megan at the Haven conference this past year and we instantly became buds. Like dance on floor all night , take goofy pictures and talk a mile a minute buds. And may I remind you to check out her blog because it is amazing as is she.
So, I am going to feature her, myself (of course) and one other blogger, Leslie at Puddy’s House, that you might be interested in checking out.
First off, lets talk about Megan. She’s the cutest little thing ever and her blog totally matches her personality. On her beautifully designed blog with equally bright beautiful photo’s she talks about crafts, home décor, cleaning and delectable recipes.
Her latest, very useful, post is about how to clean and then paint a brick fireplace. We all have either had or know someone who has one, right!?! This was the end product. I wish mine looked like that.
To see more of Megan head on over to Rappsody in Rooms. I know you will just love her.
About Me: I started blogging over 1 year ago after going to the very first Haven conference, a DIY blogging conference in Atlanta, (without a blog mind you) and I just fell in love with the idea of sharing my projects and telling people how I make my home look like it does without paying a ton of money. I look forward to every post that I write up and enjoy every minute of it. I also have a son, a step-daughter, a dog named Bentley, and the best husband ever! (don’t be jealous ladies:)
I also started to Up-Cycle old furniture and sell it in a local store in my home town because- A. I love to paint things and make then new again – B. I have an obsession with old furniture that is priced well – C. My husband might start think I am hoarder from all the furniture taking up room in our precious garage (I think he may already think that :/ ) So now I can buy, paint and sell furniture without the guilt. WIN and WIN!
So what am I working on now you ask. Well, we are in the finishing stages of a HUGE first floor renovation and I decided that along with all the other new things in my living and kitchen rooms, I need new curtains. But, I refuse to buy them so I am making some no sew curtains made out canvas drop cloths. Yes the kind that you use for covering your floor with while painting. I have seen this on pinterest here and there and so now I am giving it a whirl! All I have to say is, don’t let the inside of your forearm touch the super hot tip of the iron while trying to arrange your no sew tape. Just sayin’ it doesn’t feel or look so good.
Here is how the curtains are coming along. So far so good except that seam in the drop cloth might drive me crazy. I will have the full post next week on the finished curtains. So stayed tuned to see what I dream up to cover those seams.

HOW DOES MY WORK DIFFER FROM THOSE IN THIS GENRE.
Well almost everything I decorate with in my home, with exceptions to appliances, kitchen stuff, beds and sofas is bought second hand. Garage sales, estates sales, thrift stores and garbage. Yes, you wouldn’t believe what people sit out on the side of the road. I make it my own and give it my own style. No one has the things that I have in my home because my husband and I thought up everything from scratch and make it our own style.
WHY DO I WRITE /CREATE THE WAY I DO?
I write the same way I would if you were sitting here talking to me. I use slang a lot and let you know what I am thinking at all times. I never said grammar was my best feature but I can wing it.
HOW DOES MY WRITING/CREATIVE PROCESS WORK?
I rarely plan out a post. I know that sounds ridiculous but I have so many things in my house that I want to accomplish that it gives me more than enough content for my blog and I do a contributor post once a month for Becca over at From Gardners to Bergers. I also help my friends and family make-over their rooms in their homes. What can I say, I am just a wanted girl!!
MOVING ON– Let’s talk about Leslie
Leslie is a blogger over at Puddy’s House, lovingly named after her cutie of a dog Puddy.
We went to that first haven conference together and have been making this journey together ever since which has been a blast. Needless to say, WE. LIKE. TO. HAVE. FUN!
She loves to yard sale and thrift shop, which leads to most of her DIY and craft projects. She find great thrills from finding something that no one else wants and making it pretty and useful again. She does all of this in her “spare time” because she’s a full-time Human Resources Manager by day, so her projects and blog are what she does for fun with the hopes to inspire others that they can transform anything too. And, since she didn’t have enough to do, she also just got her own booth at a local thrift shop! Her motto is to Create. Inspire. Enjoy. and that is how she lives life too 🙂
Her latest project is a chalk paint dresser re-do which can be seen here.
There you go. Now you are a little more familiar with some of my blog friends. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
I actually like the seam on the curtains!!
You know it’s kind of growing on me. I need to let it sit for a few days so I can just stare at it hahah
Thank you so much for your kind comments and spotlight! I’ve really had fun with this little tour through Blogland! Can’t wait to see you again!!
Megan- You are sooo welcome! You so deserve to be in the spotlight!!! I too can’t wait to see you again:)
